1. The service
Keyz Piano & Theory provides browser-based apps that help students learn piano and music theory. Some apps are free to try. Full access requires an access code.
2. Access codes
An access code is personal to the buyer. It may not be shared, resold or published. We may switch off a code that is used in a way that suggests sharing or misuse. Codes issued to students by a teacher or studio (see section 6) are personal to that student.
3. Plans and payment
Plans are 1 month, 12 months or lifetime. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed securely by PayFast and prices are shown at checkout. We do not store your card details.
4. Cancelling
You can cancel a renewing plan at any time from Manage subscription. Your access stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
5. Refunds
Because access is delivered digitally and immediately, payments are generally non-refundable. If something is wrong, contact us and we will do our best to put it right.
6. Teacher and studio licences
These terms apply to music teachers, studios and schools who buy a licence at keyzpianotheory.com/teachers to give their students access codes.
- Plans and prices. A licence covers a set number of students: Starter (up to 10), Studio (up to 30) or Studio Plus (up to 75), or a custom number of students. It is paid yearly or monthly, in South African rand, through PayFast. The price for your number of students is shown before you pay.
- Your own students only. Licence places are for the teacher’s own enrolled students. Student codes may not be shared with, resold or transferred to anyone else, or published.
- Changing students. You can delete a student’s code and give the place to a new student at any time. You are never charged for students who have left.
- More students than your plan. If you need more places than your plan includes, extra students are charged at your plan’s per-student rate, and you do not have to move to a larger plan. Extra places are added once we have confirmed the new price with you.
- Free trial. New teachers can try the apps free for 14 days with up to 5 students, without paying or giving card details. When the trial ends, your students’ codes stop working and your teacher dashboard is locked until you choose and pay for a plan. Your students, codes and branding are not deleted and work again as soon as your payment is confirmed. A trial can be started once per teacher.
- Renewal and expiry. A monthly licence renews automatically every month until you stop it from your dashboard. A yearly licence is a single payment for 12 months and does not renew by itself; we email you before it ends so you can renew. If a licence ends without being renewed, the student codes stop working and the dashboard is locked until it is paid again. You can stop automatic renewal at any time and your licence stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds are covered by section 5.
- Your branding. You may upload your studio or school logo and choose your colours for your students’ page. You confirm that you have the right to use what you upload, and that it is not unlawful, misleading or offensive. We may remove branding that breaks this rule.
- Student information. You are responsible for having permission, including from parents or guardians where students are children, to give us your students’ names. We use them only to run your student codes, in line with our Privacy Policy.
- Misuse. We may suspend a licence or switch off codes that are shared, resold or used in a way that suggests misuse.
7. Availability
We work to keep the apps available but they are provided "as is", and may be updated, changed or paused from time to time.
8. Intellectual property
The apps, artwork, sounds and code are owned by Keyz Piano & Theory. You may not copy, scrape or redistribute them.
